Direct TV: The Pros

Having Satellite TV is becoming popular these days.  Many people are opting to Satellite enabled devices rather than subscribing in cable TV services.  Satellite TV or commonly referred to as Direct TV are the newest in television technology which makes use of satellite frequency signal to deliver programming right to your home.  

The Advantages:

1. Improved and Better Reception

Satellite Directv uses the satellite technology, as the innovations in satellite technology the services and reception of satellite TV also improved.  It can receive signal from satellites that orbits the earth, which means the reception of your TV is global. Since the satellites are distant from earth’s surface, the coverage is wide and transmission free from distortion as a result of rough terrain.   Development on digital television provides a much clearer picture and crispier sound quality than any cable television company offer.  Viewers can watch satellite TV with such clarity without interruption.

2. 24/7 Reliability

Cable TV and traditional TV signals are susceptible to storms and lightning which causes power interruptions. Even when power is restored, TV that relies on cable lines would still experience a downtime period. But you can watch satellite TV almost instantaneously. You would not be inconvenienced and miss your favorite movie or TV program at all.  You may also record your favorite show through the use of DirectTV DVR feature.  

3.  More viewing options

With satellite powered TV you literally have thousands of TV channels and programs to choose from.  You have options of viewing local TV channel to international channels which made available to satellite feeds.  . Whether you speak English or not, there are TV news, entertainment programs, movies and TV series in other languages that are native to you. Moreover, you get to enjoy exciting TV programs which are not available at your local TV broadcast stations.

My Car Countdown

Lately, I have been “window shopping” for a car.  I have been surfing the net and looking on magazines for the best car that would replace my 8-year old good-ol’ Honda Civic which I christened “Japow”.  The thought of replacing my beloved Japow saddened me but the circumstances really demand to replace him with new and more cost effective car.  I narrowed my options into three cars: the Toyota Venza, Scion tc, Audi a6, and mazda.

 

1.  The Toyota Venza

 

The Toyota Venza 2009 is considered as an exception to rule of a crossover vehicle rule.  The name Venza is a combination of the word “venture” and “Monza”, toyota venza is a new type of vehicle which has a SUV flexibility and beauty of a car. 

 

Venza includes 182-horsepower engine, a 2.7-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic and an an optional all-wheel-drive system that splits power between front and rear wheels.  It has also a 268-horsepower version, the V-6 which is smoother and more powerful than four-cylinder version but it more fuel hungry with 19/26 mpg compared to 21/29 mpg of the four-cylinder version. 

 

 

2.  The Scion tc

 

My other option is the scion tc, the 2009 Scion tC is based on the European-market Toyota Avensis.   It is powered by a torquey 161-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which was also used in the Camry.  It is less expensive than any of the car that I have been eyeing at.

 

The 2009 Scion tC has a sporty, cockpit-like design, with snug, well-bolstered front seats and a good driving position.  The stylish cabin and instrument panel design look like they could belong to a much more expensive vehicle.

 

3.  The Audi a6

 

This is the Transporter Jason Statham sweet car.  The audi a6 is a sleek and sophisticated vehicle that also delivers supreme functionality.  It is available in both sedan and Avant wagon forms.  Inside the Audi a6 is the 3.2-liter V-6 that generates 255 horsepower, as well as a 4.2-liter V-8 rated at 350 horsepower and available only in a sedan version. 

 

4.  The Mazda6

 

Mazda 6 is the 2009 edition of mazda cars.  It has a fresh styling, which is not present in the previous Mazdas. The 2009 Mazda Mazda6 has the car’s sporty nature, inside and out.  The 2009 Mazda Mazda6 is available with two engine options: a four-cylinder that Car and Driver says offers “2.5 liters and 170 horsepower” and a more potent “60-degree, 3.7-liter V-6 of 272 horsepower.
